In the first part of this article I introduced PPC as a way to bring a flood of traffic to your web site. I ended when we were just about to start writing our advertisement. We had already created and logged into the adwords account and selected the keywords to target.

So next you have to write your advert. Google text adverts are three lines long. When writing your advert the goal is obviously to get people to click on the advert.

Make your text interesting!

You also want to make sure you get the right persons to click on the advert. Remember, you pay for each person that clicks on your add. Don’t forget to include your major benefit, preferable in the headline.

If you have an url with several words like my improvebydoing.com or yourtraffictips.com you should make each letter in the url a capital letter like this: ImproveByDoing.com.

And the most important part when writing your advert.

The most important thing when writing your PPC advert is to always have two adverts. You can create two adverts easy in Google. You then let the system randomly select the add to show.

Let it run at the very least one week.

After a while one of the adverts will prove to work better. Select the one advert that is best and keep that one. Delete the other advert. Write a new advert and run that one instead of the one that did not perform. In this way you will constantly improve your advertisement. You only have space for a few words but even the simplest of changes can make a huge difference.

And this is important because.

The three things that determine the price you per click is
•	How many clicks on your adverts (Click Through Rate)
•	How much competition there is for your keyword
•	How well your keywords match your landing page

Another vital point for a successful campaign is to track and measure how many actually does what you want..

You can target your advert either by language, country or both. This you really want to take advantage of. If you for example are running an advert written in English you probably don’t want it displayed when someone does a search in Chinese. Targeting your advert by country is another way to increase your click through rate, CTR.

As long as your advert is running on Google you should log in every day to Adwords. You will see how the keywords you have used are performing. Disable badly performing keywords and replace them with new keywords. You might also need to change the bids on each keyword. As your CTR increase or your competition change you will need to raise or lower your bid. Make sure you know how much you are willing to pay for each visitor and don’t pay more.

You can also increase your number of visitors by increasing the quality of your landing page or by finding other keywords.

When you have a campaign that has been optimized for a while you can bring it over to other PPC services. Since Google has become so popular recently prices has gone up. The other search engines are generally cheaper but I would still go with Google first and then expand to the other services.

If you want more ideas get visitors to your site signup to my daily traffic tip. Each day you will get a new practical suggestion to try.

Want to turn your traffic trickle into a flood?

There is one simple way to almost instantly turn on a stream of traffic to your site.

I have written a few posts about how you can get free traffic to your site. If you follow my advice you will eventually be successful, but it will take a lot of work and time.

You can turn this around.

There are three sources of power available to you namely money, energy and time. Free traffic tactics generally require you to use your time and energy power to get free traffic. If you can spend money you can get the same result with less energy and time. You can try to something called PPC.

PPC stands for Pay per click. PPC is the absolute quickest way to get traffic to your site.

When you search for something on Google you get your list of results. On the right hand side of the results a list of adverts are shown. These are all PPC adverts.

The most known and largest PPC service is Google adwords. You can sign up for an account at http://adwords.google.com. There are also other good alternatives services like Yahoos ppc service, Microsofts service and also lesser known services like 7search.com.

When you run PPC advertising you pay each time someone clicks your advert. You can set the budget you want to spend each day. You should always monitor your running campaigns very closely to make sure you get good results on what you are paying for.

I would start with Google Adwords if I was new to PPC since their service is the easiest to use. Google is also the largest search engine by far so you will get traffic quicker than by the other services. One final advantage with Google is that they have an automated system. There is no need to wait for you advert to get approved like it was on Overture and some other services..

When you start your campaign you begin by selecting the keywords. The keywords determine for which searches you advert will be displayed. Always create one campaign for each market or group of keywords. If you want to target several markets simply create several campaigns.

Tomorrow I will write about creating your Google advert and some important things to think about when running the campaign.

Now sign up for Google Adwords and take at the very least 30 minutes to go through the tutorials at their learning centre.
