After much work, more than I anticipated, the Site Hyping report is finally up and available

I have been writing a lot lately about web traffic generation here and you might already be getting my free web traffic tips from YourTrafficTips.com, if you are not getting it you should signup. YourTrafficTips is all about easy to use ideas written down as a few steps, easy to follow. Like a smorgasbord of tactics to pick from.

Site Hyping on the other hand is a step by step system to bring more visitors to your site using social networking and web 2.0. Its much more comprehensive. You will learn from the very beginning how to get more visitors to your web site and exactly what you need to do. You can use the site hyping system as a base and then complement it with ideas from the free newsletter.

This is my first info product targeted at web masters. When I started to write on it I never really intended it to be released as a product, it was just meant for a few selected friends….

In a project that I do with a couple of friends we have a few people that are quite new to site promotion. They know how to create web sites, they are experts in their field and know how to write content, but what’s the point with no visitors.

Me being a bit lazy, I didn’t want to work on all web traffic generation myself. So I decided to write down what has been working for me so far, so that they could do all the work. The one page explanation quickly grew to a 20 page report. I gave the report to the people in my group and… got a lot of questions back… now it was no longer a simple report but rather a step by step system. There is a flow chart to follow on what to do each day and forms to follow and fill in as you do your work.

So I figured, now I have a system that anyone one can follow why not share it with the rest of the world and make some money… Money is nice to have and I have always wanted to do an info product.

So, if you want more visitors to your site and can follow a step by step system, take my system for a test and let me know what you think.

Yesterday I gave some background to web 2.0 and what it is.

Anyway, what has this to do with web traffic generation?

Besides my example from yesterday there is a whole new breed of web sites that let you create your web pages on their site from your web browser.

Some of the most popular sites of the breed are:
http://www.blogger.com – Google blogging platform
http://www.squidoo.com – Create specific pages around a subject
http://360.yahoo.com – Yahoos communication portal including a blogg
www.wordpress.com – Blogg using wordpress hosted at wordpress.com

These services are generally very easy to setup.

You can use these sites in traffic building by linking them to your main page.

When these services are used like this we call them feeder pages.

You create a new account and can start creating right away. When you create your account remember to take the time to fill out your profile. Most of these allow one link to your main web page.

The first advantage of using these services is that you can create links yourself to you main site. As your page gets indexed you will see a flow of traffic to your site from this site.

Another big advantage of a web page created on one of these social sites is that they are hosted on high credibility sites. They have high pr. If many pages like this links to your web page you not only get visitors following these links you also get a search engine benefit.

I would recommend, and I do it myself, to use pages created on services like this as feeders for your main page.

To get the best result in the search engines you should only link in one direction. In other words, only link from a feeder page to your main web page. Never link from your main site to your feeder.

You should also focus your feeder page on a specific keyphrase, that is one of the big benefits of the feeder pages. You can dedicate a complete web page on just one keyphrase.

When you have a network setup you will have to continue maintaining it. You should make a change to your feeder pages at least once time per month.

What is this thing called web 2.0?

In this first post I will make a short introduction of the web 2.0 phenomena.

Tomorrow I will post part 2 and I will answer the practical question.

How can you use it to bring more people to your site?

Web 2.0 is currently way too hyped in my opinion. Really the term is coined and basically refers to a second generation of more modern web pages.

The first web 1.0 refers to static web pages. This second generation refer to pages that allow more user interaction on the page directly.

User interaction has always been available on the web. In the old days it meant you interacted with the page, a server request was send and a new web page was generated.

Web 2.0 pages are more like small computer programs that can do much of the interaction on your computer without involving a server. This let you build a whole new range of web pages that acts like computer programs. Google’s suit of office programs are a good example of this, advanced services that run smoothly in a standard web browser.

Another part of web 2.0 is user created content and user interaction, the social web. I talked before about social bookmarking sites and they are a very good example of this. Users manually select what pages to show on the site and users vote on how to order them and they communicate around the articles.

Check back tomorrow to read the next part of this post and learn how you can use web 2.0 pages to drive traffic to your web page. I would also like you to signup to my newsletter to learn more about web traffic generation.
