How to get web traffic using social bookmarking – part 2
Now it is time to use the accounts you created yesterday to bring more traffic to your web page.
Most of the social bookmarking sites allow you to give a short summary of the web page. When you write this summary the goal is to have people visit your page. A good idea is to write the description as a number of questions or problems that the web page solves. The description should build interest and make a visitor want to see your web page.
You should not write the description as an advertisement. Write as if you were a web visitor who happened to stumble upon the web page. My best advice is to study the descriptions of the top voted links and try to learn from what obviously works.
So now you have an account and are ready to go.
None of these sites like spam so you should not add all your web pages at once and you should not only add your own pages. Make it a habit to bookmark at least two other pages for each of your own page. Make sure the other pages are around the same subject as yours.
Bookmarking other relevant pages has two advantages. First, the risk of getting banned is reduced. After all, these sites where designed to help you keep track of your bookmarks and well that is what you are doing. Another benefit is that visitors sometimes look at who bookmarked their sites and pay back by voting on your posts.
Now that you have you site listed on the site. The next step is to get it tagged on the sites that support this
This is really simple, just give the url to your page on the social site to all your friends and ask them to vote for you.
When you really get into this you can join network of people tagging and commenting for each other.
The goal here is to get your page voted to the front of the social site, if you manage this you will probably get more visitors than you can handle. To achieve this you have to have a page with content that is really interesting for a lot of people and in most cases you have to get the ball rolling. If your page has just one vote most people will ignore it. Once it picks up some votes more people will read the headline and you will get more and more votes..
I gave you a list of sites to use before. You can visit them one by one and add your new site but there are quicker ways that are free.
